Made in the Image

Dorothy L Sayers is best known as the creator of suave sleuth Lord Peter Wimsey but she was also one of the finest Anglican theologians of the 20th century. Sayers challenged the patriarchal church of her day to broaden its understanding of what it means to be human, male and female and in her book Mind of the Maker used the creative process in the arts and literature to illuminate theology and vice versa.

Amy Orr-Ewing is Director of the Oxford Centre for Christian Apologetics (OCCA). Amy is a passionate exponent of a rational Christian response to many of the pressing cultural issues of the day. She recently completed her DPhil at Oxford University looking at the work of Dorothy L Sayers.

We look forward to hearing her reflections on Sayers and learning what Sayers can teach us about being human.
