What is Truth?
Monday, 26 November @ 19:30 - 21:00£5
Our series exploring what it means to be Doing Truth is drawn to a close by Canon Bill Cave MA. Bill Cave has spent most of his ministry as a chaplain, first at a University but latterly, and for much longer, in the prison service. He has served as the convener of the European Region of the International Prison Chaplains’ Association. In more recent years and until his retirement in 2017 he led the multi-faith chaplaincy team at The Verne prison and Immigration Removal Centre on Portland. Negotiating what it means to Do Truth in a multi-faith environment has been central to his work and ministry which continues in retirement as Hon. Chaplain to the Wiltshire Police Force in Devizes.
What is Truth in an closed establishment where perhaps 40% of the community are Muslim and the Christian witness includes Balkan Orthodox and Nigerian Pentecostal in addition to the usual sprinkling of Anglicans, Free Church and RCs? We look forward to hearing how he has sought to work out Doing Truth in such scenarios.Share:
