European God, African World

Monday, 8 June, 2015 @ 19:30 - 21:00

£5

George Otieno

AfricaThe Revd George Otieno is an Anglican priest from Tanzania. He has spent much time considering the outcome of Christianity for African ecology and is in the UK at present writing a PhD on the subject.

He suggests that the Western European understanding of the Christian gospel is not always in harmony with the way Africans think of and relate to the world around them. In this talk he will show us something of how the world seems to the
African Christian whose life is focussed very strongly around community and family. The sense of interdependence this brings is, he argues, something we in the UK need to recover.
